For a little reflection of today's activities...
After introductions I have made the following notes regarding day one;

Lexile Score / Lexile Levels
Close Reading - going over and over and over and over...if necessary to grasp what the author is trying to tell me.
Frontloading - Ask, "What do I know about the subject before I start reading?" Review or familiarize the vocabulary being used. Do some pre-research before jumping into the material. (youtube, google, etc.)
What is your opinion on the text or subject matter?
What are your likes/dislikes?
What is your prediction regarding the text?
What is going to happen?

Welcome to my tales! Education 338
It is day one of learning to read. What an adventure! We are learning how to do a lot of new things, and all of them require knowing how to read. The greatest adventure is learning about Blackboard Collaborate and how technology is allowing each of us to be in the same place while being in a very different location.
We have managed to introduce ourselves today and are continuing to work through all of the cobwebs and crazies of day one! We have reviewed Chapters 1, 2, and 3, of "Classroom Strategies for Interactive Learning" by Doug Buehl, and decided to save Chapter 4 for next week.
It has been great getting to use technology to help us continue our educational journey. I am looking forward to plunging into the deep! Whooot!
