Today's Take-Aways

For a little reflection of today's activities...

After introductions I have made the following notes regarding day one;

SRI (Student Reading Inventory)
Lexile Score / Lexile Levels
Close Reading - going over and over and over and over...if necessary to grasp what the author is trying to tell me.
Frontloading - Ask, "What do I know about the subject before I start reading?" Review or familiarize the vocabulary being used. Do some pre-research before jumping into the material. (youtube, google, etc.)
What is your opinion on the text or subject matter?
What are your likes/dislikes?
What is your prediction regarding the text?
What is going to happen?

What about the way a textbook is written regarding CAPS, BOLD, ITALIC.
When do we stop looking at the BOLD text?

  1. I like your summary! I may have to come back and use it to remember what we discussed. Good note taking!
